Jessica Embry, APRN, FNP-BC
Jessica M. Embry, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in pediatric palliative care at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria. She began her career as a bedside nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in 2010, where she also served as a charge nurse, ECMO specialist, and preceptor before transitioning to her advanced practice role in 2017. Since then, she has provided compassionate, interdisciplinary care for children with life-limiting conditions, focusing on pain and symptom management, advance care planning, and family support. Jessica holds a BSN from Truman State University and an MSN from Illinois State University. Her background includes extensive involvement in quality improvement, ethics, clinical education, and leadership initiatives.
Meggan Mikal-DeMont, DNP, APRN-FPA, PCNS-BC, CPNP-PC, CHPPN, FPCN
Meggan Mikal-DeMont is a nurse practitioner of the Pediatric Advance Care Team at Advocate Children’s Hospitals in Oak Lawn, IL and Lightways community based pediatric palliative and hospice care. Meggan completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing degree at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. She is dually certified as both a pediatric clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner. She completed her Masters in 2010 and Doctorate in 2020 at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois.
